Susan is a mother of three, and a grandmother of three. She believes in treating families she works with as she herself would expect to be treated. She volunteers her time as a special education surrogate parent to make education decisions for children in state custody whose parents are unable to do so.
Susan is a speech-language pathologist (SLP) passionate about helping all children develop communication skills. Speech and language skills impact success across all areas of academics, social-emotional learning, and school environments.
A retired public school related service provider and special education department head, Susan understands the special education process and the importance of collaboration. Together, parents, teachers, specialists, and administrators play an important role in identifying students’ needs, developing and then implementing an effective individualized education plan (IEP).
Susan is an educational consultant and special education advocate. She strives to empower parents with the information they need to advocate for their child.
